We celebrate the life and memory of Elizabeth L McGinnis, who is now in glory with her Lord and Saviour, and who we confidently know we will see again one day. Elizabeth (Betty), born March 23,1924, passed from this world, peacefully at home, on April 11,2023. Formerly of Newark Valley, NY, she resided for the last several years with her step daughter, and son-in-law
Richard and Patricia Wylie, in Mechanicsburg PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis M McGinnis, and her two sisters, Mildred Hammond, and Patricia Cook. She is survived by a grandson, Richard P Wylie, his wife Carol and their 2 sons, and a Granddaughter, Meredith Belga, her husband Felix and their 6 children;2 nieces Joyce (Rob) Merwin, and Lynn(Roger) Phillips, 1 nephew Ronald(Lydia)Hammond; grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Maine, NY, and also attended Emmanuel Baptist Church, Mechanicsburg, PA. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Homeland Health Services and Homeland Hospice for the compassionate care given to Betty.
Funeral Services will be held 10 am, Thursday April 20th, at the Allen Memorial Home, Endicott NY. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira NY. Family will receive friends at Allen Memorial Home Thursday from 9:30-10 am, service to follow viewing, officiated by Pastor Jim Barnes. Expressions of sympathy in Elizabeth’s name may be made to the First Baptist Church of Maine, NY, or charity of choice.
