Emma B. Georgia, 102, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at UHS Senior Living at Ideal, Endicott, NY. She was predeceased by her first husband of 13 years, Kenneth Ferry, her second husband of 43 years, Leon Gordon Georgia, and her parents Louis and Margaret Baker. She is survived by several nieces and nephews on her husband’s side including Jeanne Purvis, Mt. Clemens, Michigan and Nancy Pfendler, Booneville, NY. She also had many good friends and neighbors. Emma graduated from Union-Endicott High School in 1933. She worked for EJ in the Finewedt offices as head biller and for EJ Shoe Stores in Oneonta and Endicott. Emma was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Endicott and taught Sunday School along with other activities at the church since the age of 12. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Round Hill Chapter # 104, Daughters of the Nile, Zulieka Temple # 9, and a former member of the Joppa Shrine where she served as Worthy High Priestess. Emma loved to play Bingo and had a warm smile and independent nature. She had many friends at Ideal Senior Living Center where she resided for approximately 12 years, mostly in an Independent Living apartment. A thank you is given to all who touched her life. Funeral and Interment Services will be held Friday, February 3rd, at 1 pm from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. An Eastern Star Service will be included. Interment will be at a later time at Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. Visitation will be held at the Allen Memorial Home Friday from 12 pm until the service time at 1 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
