Eugene J. Broderick, 91, of Endicott, died at home, Friday, October 6, 2017. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Muriel. He is survived by a daughter and son in law Aileen and Ronald Zielewicz and their children Elizabeth, Rita and Alena, all of Newark Valley, NY; three sons Michael and wife Tammi, Florida; his children Erin (Grant) Miller, Rachel, Russell, Lauren and Ryan; James, New Berlin, NY and John, Endwell. He was a member of the Confraternities of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Our Lady of the Rosary. A graduate of Syracuse University. He was an awarded industrial engineer who helped IBM Endicott become a world leader in manufacturing. He finished his 30 year career as the safety manager for the Endicott Site, often leading IBM worldwide manufacturing in safety statistics. He also was a member of the Navy in WWII. You always knew it was Gene when you heard “Hey beautiful” or “Hey handsome.” His genuine love and humorous personality will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday 9:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott and 10 am from Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Endicott. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Friday from 4-7 pm, with the Parastas Service (prayer service) from 4-4:30, recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to Mother Theresa’s Cupboard, c/o Holy Spirit Church, 360 Clinton St., Binghamton, NY 13905. Prayers, Masses and Liturgies for the repose of his soul are also appreciated.
