Evelyn M. Hazlett, 98, of Endicott NY, died Tuesday at Willow Point Nursing Home, Tuesday, March 25, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hazlett. She operated a day care for many years from her home in Huntington, Long Island, then retired after several years as a machine operator from Bard Parker in Hancock, NY. Family members and friends will dearly miss her presence during trips to Florida, Maine and Maryland, as well as weekend camping trips, day outings and get-togethers. She often joked that her Christmas card list got smaller each year but she will certainly be remembered by all those who knew her. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many, and she will be forever missed by all. She is survived by a daughter, Jeannine Barrett of Endicott, NY; two sons, Bruce Hazlett and wife, Cindy of Nicholson, PA; and Frederick Hazlett and wife, Patricia of Conklin, NY; eleven grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother, John Turner; and sons, Ronald and William Jr.
There will be a graveside service Saturday, April 19th at 10 am at Chenango Valley Cemetery, led by Jeanne Randall. If you wish to make a donation in Evelyn’s memory, do so to SPEAK of Binghamton, NY.
