Francis (Fran) Nezelek

May 5, 1936 — October 27, 2024

Mr. Francis Nezelek, 88, of Endicott, died at his Claryville residence on Sunday, Oct. 27th, 2024. He passed peacefully in the company of loved ones.
Fran was predeceased by many loved ones; his parents, Elizabeth and Frank Nezelek; his brother, Donald Nezelek; his brother-in-law, Michael LaGrega; his wife of 36 years, Beverly Anne (Nolan) Nezelek (it is fair to say that they were never apart spiritually for a further 27 years).
Fran is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Kim Nezelek and Alan Hanson of Claryville, N.Y., Kathleen and John White of Vestal, N.Y., Karen Maslak of Sayville, N.Y., and Kristine Nezelek of Binghamton, N.Y.; one son and daughter-in-law, Francis Andrew and Valerie Nezelek of Fernandina Beach, FL; his grandchildren, Sean (Maddie) White, Leah (Gaby) Britte, Samantha White, Drew (Alyssa) Nezelek, Kate (Tori) Nezelek, Scotty Nezelek, Tyler Maslak, Elle Maslak, Corey Hanson, and Kayliegh (Jason) Harte; his great-grandchildren, Riley, Dean, Kol, Dakota Harte, Rowan White, and Zinnia Nezelek; two dear sisters and brother-in-law, Anita (Kaissar) Ibrahim of Charlotte, N.C., and Mary LaGrega of Lewisburg, PA; many treasured cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Fran was a loyal member of Saint Ambrose Church, Endicott. He was a very sweet man who managed to retain a mischievous charm and creative energy his whole life. He was a most amazing husband and father. He knew great friendships and was so grateful for them. (The Saint James Gang is a tightly knitted support group like no other!)
Fran was an avid fisherman, canoe operator, and gardener. This Spring, when anyone reading this chooses to drop a fishing line or a canoe paddle into the water, or feed seeds or bulbs into the soil, please think of him and smile.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 am Monday, November 4 at St. Anthony of Padua Church 300 Odell Avenue, Endicott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive at church Monday, November 4 from 10 am until Mass time at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the Susan G. Komen Fund to End Breast Cancer @ www.komen.org, or to The Special Olympics, Government Plaza, Binghamton, N.Y. 13901.
