Francis C. (Frank) Spellane Jr., 79, of Endwell, went peacefully to be with Our Lord on Saturday, July 27, 2013. He is predeceased by his parents, Mary Rose and Francis C. Spellane; brothers, Ronald and Thomas. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marian; children, Francis (Gloria), Vincent (Lorie), Theresa (JP) Sacco, Mary (Scott) Newman, and John (Anita); grandchildren, Michael (Crystal) Frederick, Kevin, Jessica, Alex, Emily, Ashley, Michael, Jacob, Isaac, and Sarah; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Frank graduated from Villanova University, where he received a BS in electrical engineering and SUNY Binghamton, where he received an MS. Frank had a deep faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary’s Church in Apalachin, where he was a Eucharistic Minister and served on the Parish Council. Prior to that he was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Endicott, where he was a Eucharistic Minister, Lecturer, and served on the Parish Council. He was also an intricate member of the RCIA, prenuptial counseling, charismatic renewal, curcillo marriage encounter and a teacher of confirmation and CCD classes. Frank also volunteered and was on the advisory board for the Eastern Farm Workers for many years. He was an avid New York Giant’s football fan, loved making wine, and was famous for his home-made corned beef. He also had a deep affection for his entire family. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services held Wednesday 9:15 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Margaret Mary’s Church at 10 am. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Frank’s memory may be made to the Eastern Farm Workers Association, 525 North Salina Street, Syracuse NY 13208 or Tioga County Rural Ministry, 143 North Avenue, Owego, NY 13827.
