Frederick Lee Hanyon, Sr. went to sleep peacefully at home Sunday, August 26, 2012, surrounded by his loving family after he had put up with so much pain in such a gallant effort to spare those he loved so much. Fred is survived by his wife of 49 wonderful years, Ruth; his children, Fred (Bonnie) Hanyon, Jr., Alycia (Joe) Leto, Tiffany (Dean) Daniels. He was predeceased by his first grandson, Danian Hanyon. He is survived by his other grandchildren, Ryan and Jenelle Hanyon, Cole and Cade Leto, Bridgette (Kurt) Rigler, Sawyer Daniels; and great-granddaughter, Sophia Hanyon; his siblings, Butch Conroy, Sissy (Bud) Paugh, Ed Conroy, Jack (Cindy) Conroy, Mary (Frank) Plonski, Lillian (Mark) Biefeldt and Clara (Kevin) Cole; his sister-in-law, Mary Johnson; and also many, many special nieces and nephews. Fred was 76 years old, and he worked 50 of those years in construction out of Laborers Local 7. He was incredibly strong and an exceptional worker sought out by name from all the companies he worked for. Fred was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was always more concerned about his family and friends than he was himself. He had the hope of being together again very soon with all his family on a Paradise Earth. Until then he will be greatly missed and forever loved. Memorial Services will be held Thursday 7 pm from Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. Bill Husch of Johnson City Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Thursday from 5 pm until service time at 7 pm.
