Gary E. Powell, 67, of Endicott, went to be with his Lord Monday June 17, 2013. He is pre deceased by his mother Mildred. He is survived by his loving wife and best friendof 45 years, Sharon; daughters ,Jennifer (Michael) Nobs, Heather (Matthew) Stone; four grandchildren, Rylie, Madison, Taylor, Dakota; brothers, Richard (Carol) Powell, Ronald (Elizabeth) Powell, Clyde Johnson III; sister, Lissa (Scott) Leslie; step-father, Clyde Johnson Jr; special aunt and uncle, Frank and Peg Penrose; several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Gary was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Endicott. He is a member of and past exalted ruler of the Endicott Elks, member of American Legion Post 1700, Vietnam veteran and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and boating. He enjoyed spending time in Alex Bay and Englewood, FL but he most enjoyed his time spent with his children and grandchildren. The family would like to thank you to Dr. Readling, Melinda Rigo, Dr. Bertini and the staff at Broome Oncology for their care and compassion of Gary during his illness. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 11 am from the Allen Memorial Home 511-513 E Main Street, Endicott, with Reverend John R. Martinichio Rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will be in Marathon Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Thursday from 4-7 pm with a Lodge of Sorrow service at 6:45 pm.
