Reverend George L. Brasser, 82 years old, of Endicott, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 11, 2016. Born in Elmira, NY to George and Mabel Brasser, he married Malinda Schlicht in 1954, graduated from Practical Bible Training School, and pastored local churches in Pennsylvania, Florida, and New York for many years. George cared for his wife, daughters, and congregations as he served, shepherded and led ministry during his life. George’s legacy is his family, and lives of people he ministered to and shared the good news of God’s grace with. He served local churches in East Lawrence, Austinville, Sunbury Pennsylvania, Lake Wales, Florida, and the Rapids Bible Church in Lockport NY, before retiring from Hillcrest Baptist Church in Elmira in 1999. George then served part-time with Jewish Awareness Ministries until his passing. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Malinda, daughters Susan Korcipa and Georgia (David) Page, grandchildren Eric Page, April (Al) Youngs, Alyssa (Ben) Webber, and Stephanie (Jeffrey) Steidle, brother Richard (Judy) Brasser, and nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his parents, sister Eugenia Wood, and son-in-law Marion “Al” Korcipa.
Services will be held Saturday 1 pm from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. Memorial donations may be made in his name to Jewish Awareness Ministries, P.O. Box 1808, Angier, NC 27501, or at jewishawareness.org.
