George W. Duncan

George W. Duncan, 91, of Endwell, formerly of South Gate, California, born in Walla Walla, Washington January 13, 1921, went to be with his Lord at Wilson Memorial Hospital Thursday, November 22, 2012. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 65 years, Kay Duncan, who died January 16, 2009, parents, Anthony (Gavin) and Mae Duncan, two brothers and sister- in- laws Walter and Barbara Duncan and Jack and Mary Duncan, sister and brother-in-law Jean and Bob Hale. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Roxanne Duncan, Endwell, two grandsons, Gavin Duncan and Ryan Duncan both of Endwell, Goddaughter, Cindi Brown, Pleasanton, California. He was a retired employee with Proto Tool Company in Los Angeles, CA retiring after 37 years of service were he started as a plater and completed his career as the lead maintenance foreman. A veteran of W.W. II, serving in the US Army Air Corp. where he flew 32 combat missions as a B-24 Aerial Gunner. He was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal (EAME) Theater Ribbon with Six Bronze Battle Stars and the U.S. Air Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters for meritorious achievements. George was a gentle soul who loved his family, the Mojave Desert and the Pacific Ocean. A private ceremony will be held at the convenience of George’s family to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, the Duncan family asks that everyone who knew George to extend an act of kindness in his memory.
