George S. Lovell, 99, of Vestal passed away peacefully December 8, 2014 at James G. Johnston Memorial Nursing Home, Johnson City. George was predeceased by his parents and an infant daughter, five siblings and sons-in-law, Robert Miner, William Kemmery and Ray Hallock. George is survived by his loving wife of 77 years, Jean; daughters, Anna Miner, Linda (Al) Demarest and Janice (Kemmery) Hallock; two siblings, Martha and Leroy; twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great granddaughters. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend, Glen. George retired from IBM Endicott in 1971. He enjoyed gardening, and shared his produce with Meals on Wheels and CHOW as well as with his family and friends. He was an avid horseshoe player, winning many awards, and was inducted into the Tri-County Horseshoe Club Hall of Fame in 2006 and the New York State Horseshoe Hall of Fame in 2007. The family wishes to thank the staff at JGJ Memorial Nursing Home for their kind and loving care. Special thanks to Jim Meade of Vestal United Methodist Church.
