George E. Ludington, 85, of Maine, NY passed away on July 1, 2017 at Willow Point Rehabilitation and Nursing Center after an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mary Ludington; his brother Henry Ludington Jr.; his sister Loretta Payne; his brother Robert Ludington; and his grandson David Cutler. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Ludington of Maine; his daughter, Renee Cutler, her husband Dr. Robert Cutler and their son, Benjamin Cutler of Mooresville, NC; his daughter Denise Ludington of Endwell; his son John Ludington of Newark Valley; his son Matthew Ludington and wife Wendi, and their children Mark and Kate of Endwell. He was dearly loved by his family and all his grandchildren. His best friend Jim Gill and wife Dawn have been the family’s guardian angels. Pat Bryce is a special family friend. He loved his family, his friends and God. George served in the Navy during the Korean War and worked for 34 years with IBM Corp. He was a recognized collector of baseball bats and gloves. He loved Maine and the people of Maine. He served on Maine’s planning and zoning boards, and was elected Councilman, then Supervisor for the Town of Maine.
Visitation will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, July 5 at Most Holy Rosary Church in Maine. A Memorial Mass will follow at 12 pm with Reverend Clarence Cerwonka officiating. A luncheon will be after the Mass at the church hall and is open to all family and friends. Interment will be held at a later date.
