Geraldine Repchak

Geraldine Repchak, age 62, passed away January 21, 2015 at Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City, NY. Born October 9, 1952 in Peckville, PA. to Gerald and Leocadia (Louise) Garbett, Gerri grew up with her sister Paula in Olyphant, PA. She graduated from Bishop Hannon High School in Scranton and continued her education at Mercy Hospital School of Nursing where she earned certifications as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Anesthetist. It was during high school that Gerri met the love of her life, Steven Repchak. Steven and Gerri dated for seven years before being married on October 2, 1976. They relocated to Endicott, NY in 1978, and in 1979 Gerri gave birth to their first daughter Kimberly. A second daughter, Amy, arrived two years later. After getting settled in Endicott, Gerri began work for Union-Endicott Schools as a lunch monitor/bus attendant. She was also an active parishioner at the Church of the Holy Family. Gerri loved to cook, especially for family gatherings such as thanksgiving at her sister’s house or at home each year on July 4. She also loved to travel with her family, making sure that each summer included a multi-generational excursion to a new locale. Gerri is predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband; daughter Kimberly Coury and her husband David; daughter Amy Benninger, her husband David and their children Danielle, Zoe, and David, all of Endicott. In addition, she is survived by her sister Paula Chipalowsky and Paula’s husband Edward of Jefferson Twp. PA and their daughter Kara Ewonishon and her husband Jonathan of Collegeville PA.
Funeral Services will be held Monday 9:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at Church of the Holy Family at 10 am. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Sunday from 3-6 pm. In Lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Gerri’s honor to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
