Geraldine “Gerry” Snavely passed away peacefully at home on September 8, 2021 following a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Martin, her parents, Nellie and Leo Halpin, and her brothers Harold and Howard Halpin. Gerry is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Amy Snavely, her daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Randy Yarrington, and her grandsons, Tom and Ryan Yarrington. Gerry enjoyed an active life. She began working on her family farm when she was young, and after graduating from Union-Endicott High School in 1945 she worked in the payroll department at Endicott Johnson. Gerry was a wonderful piano player: she enjoyed teaching piano lessons and playing in a polka band with her brother. Later, she worked in the Vestal Nursing Home and the Oakdale Mall. Gerry also cared for several family members and friends when they needed assistance. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Gerry loved the family farm, polka music, gardening, and animals, especially her cats. She would have liked any donations in her name to go to the Broome County Humane Society.
