On January 19, 2015, Gertrude S. Monaco headed Home to tend the gardens of our Loving Heavenly Father. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, Peter P. Monaco, her parents, Elizabeth and August Wagner, Endicott, her beloved “sister”, Bea Wagner, Vestal, and dear friend, Rev. Glenn Newberry. She is survived by her brother, Fred Wagner, Vestal; her children Marie Monaco and James Monaco, Endwell, and Richard Monaco (fiancé Jill McConnell), Apalachin; grandchildren Thomas Foster, Endicott, Theresa Fiacco, Endwell, Theodore Foster, Binghamton, Nicholas Monaco, Endicott, and Michael Monaco, Colorado; great-grandchildren Michaela and Paige DiLorenzo, and Jilianne and Israel Foster, Endwell, and her godchild, Anita Donovon, Virginia. With all her heart Trudy cherished her loving neighbors and friends, especially the Woods and Soltis families always at her side, her Weis and CVS families, her beautiful yard, home and gardens, parties and meals at the house, and her four pet dogs in her lap every day. She supported all who needed her, welcomed anyone and everyone to her home, cared for others’ health, issues and broken hearts, and always put real love to work for anyone who came to her.
The family will welcome friends at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 701 West Main Street, Endicott, on Friday, January 23, 2015, from 10 to 11:45 am for fellowship, followed by Mass at 12 pm, then interment at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Broome County Animal Care Council, West Corners Fire Station, and Our Lady of Good Counsel Church are appreciated.
