Hazel Corey

Hazel (Babcock) Corey, 82 of Binghamton, affectionately known as “Bama”, passed away at Wilson Memorial Hospital Tuesday, April 14, 2015. She was predeceased by her parents Earl and Gladys Babcock and a sister Addie Reece. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Jack; a daughter Janet (Mark) Wheeler, Binghamton; son Gary (Julie) Corey, Vestal; grandchildren Jill (Erick) Poock; Eric (Natale) McNeish; Scott; Joshua; Geoffrey Corey and Nicole Shantillo; two great grandchildren Evan and Eliana McNeish; three sisters Ora Power, Rochester, NY; Betty Rohan, Endwell and Mary Webb Norwich, NY. She was a member of Ogden Hillcrest United Methodist Church, Binghamton. Hazel was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew and loved her. For 25 years, Hazel spent her summers at their magnificent summer home on Grenadier Island at the 1000 Islands. Every day from morning till night she would spend her time doting on the loves of her life, Jack, her children and grandchildren. Hazel was infamously known at the 1000 Islands for her breathtaking flower beds that adorned their property and were admired by hundreds of boaters on the majestic St. Lawrence River. Funeral Services will be held Monday 10 am from Ogden Hillcrest United Methodist Church, 1061 Chenango Street, Binghamton, NY 13901. Burial will be in Chenango Valley Cemetery, Binghamton. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott Sunday from 1-4 pm.
