Helen Slama

Helen (Gnan) Slama, 78 of Endicott, unexpectedly, went to the Lord, Tuesday, January 14, 2014. She was predeceased by her daughter Linda; son Steven; grandson Jeffery and parents John and Elsie. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Steven; two daughters Nancy (Andrew) Slawta and Theresa (Joseph Johns) Mullineaux and Penny Carmon; her grandchildren Matthew; Rebecca; Randy; Rachelle; Michael and Kimberly; two great grandchildren Hannah and Jack; a brother and sister in law John and Nancy Gnan and their family; nieces; nephews and longtime friend Mary Ann Burgher. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and a retired IBM Corp, Owego employee. Some of Helen’s enjoyments in life were traveling with her husband and playing cards with her card club friends. Special thanks to Wilson Hospital ICU Unit for all their compassionate care towards Helen in her last days and to Pam Drumm for her loving and devoted care.
Funeral Services will be held Friday 11 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, with the Reverend Father Corey VanKuren officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, Friday from 9:30 am until service time at 11 am.
