Helenira “Lenita” Ricapito

Helenira “Lenita” Ricapito died at Smilow Cancer Hospital, New Haven, CT on June 21, 2015 after her own battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her husband, Alphonse Ricapito earlier that same day and previously by her parents, the Gouvea’s, of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Lenita retired from IBM in Endicott, NY and is survived by her son, Jeffrey and daughter in-law Elizabeth along with three grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew and Lauren all of Avon, CT. She remained dedicated to her husband throughout their marriage and was his tireless care-taker during his fight with cancer until she herself passed away.
The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott Saturday from 1-4 pm. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in memory of Al & Lenita Ricapito to support medical oncology and cancer research that may one day help us find a cure by contributing to the Closer to Free Fund, which jointly supports the Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven, P.O.
