Howard Gehring

Admiral Howard B. Gehring, USCG, 81, reposed peacefully at home in the arms of his family on October 1, 2022. He is predeceased by his parents Frederick and Ruby Gehring and his siblings Marlene (Cunningham), Douglas, and Roger. He is survived by his loving wife Jean Gehring and his son, Lazarus and his wife, Rachel,and their children: Keziah, Noah, Hannah, Constantine, Demetrius, Artemius, Cornelius, Mamas, Kypriana, Amal and Sabine) and his daughter Susan (Wong) and her husband, Jace, and their children Jacob, Emily, and Jillian, and his very special niece Kali (Minier) and her husband Nick and baby Abigail as well as his sister Kathleen (Lorch).
The Admiral was a highly decorated and successful military man known for his courage, wisdom, integrity, and faithfulness. He had an oceanic love and generosity toward all people especially those in suffering and in sorrow. His life’s work was “making what ought to be, what is!” May his Memory be Eternal!
