Irene Kodey

Irene (Lisak) Kodey, 83, of Endwell, passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, to be in her heavenly home Saturday, September, 2012. She was predeceased by her parents John and Mary Lisak; sister Julia Whittaker and brothers John and Joseph Lisak. Irene is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years Engelbert (Bert) Kodey; a daughter and best friend Terri Lyn; a son and daughter in law Michael and Tresa; grandson Austin; a brother and sister in law Stephen and Georgianna Lisak; brothers in law and sisters in law Joseph and Betty Kodey; Lorraine Kodey; Mary Mahoney and Anne Ziemba; also several nieces; nephews and cousins. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Endicott, and was a retired Union Forging employee, retiring after 49 years of dedicated service in the personal dept. After her retirement Irene cared for her only grandson Austin until he went to school and sheenjoyed working in the family business, Sunny Hill Tree Farm, Endwell, making over 2000 Christmas Wreath with Ace getting a bone after every one. She was also Valedictorian of her graduating class at Union-Endicott High School, enjoyed her Sunday morning Polkas, but her greatest enjoyment was her family.Funeral Services will be held Wednesday 11 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church at 11:30 am. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, Wednesday from 9 am until service time at 11 am.
