Irene Yurko 93 of Endicott went to be with the Lord on Sunday January 28, 2018. She was pre deceased by her husband Michael whom she was married to for 68 years, her sisters Helen (Rosko); Anna Ketchuck; Sue Chaffee and Mary Lessler; her brother John (Philomena) Rosko, and son in law Gary (Bogart). She is survived by a daughter Maryann Bogart; a son Michael (Madelyn) Yurko; six grandchildren, her special angel Andrea, Thomas, and Craig Bogart; Scott (Michelle); David (Kate) and Jennifer Yurko; four great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law Margaret Dzuba and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Irene was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She had a deep devotion to saying the Rosary, baking and listening to Frank Sinatra in the mornings. She worked for Endicott-Johnson Shoe Company and later retired from IBM Glendale. The family would like to thank Dr. Ramanujan, Nancy Evans and staff, Meals & Wheels of Western Broome County, Leslie Warner, the caring and devoted staff at Mercy House who made her final days peaceful.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday 9:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott and 10 am from Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Endicott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Tuesday evening from 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Mercy House, 212 North McKinley Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
