Irma Magnante

Irma Magnante, 78, from Veroli, Italy, resident of Endicott passed away Friday July 27, 2018. She was predeceased by her parents Giovanni and Emilia, her brother Umberto, his wife Lisetta, brother Gildo, twin sister Giuliana and her husband Enio, father-in-law Orlando and mother-in-law Rosa and many cousins. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Alberto, daughters Roberta Magnante, Carla Page and her husband Leon Page, special nephew John and Marina Magnante and their families of Canada. She worked for Endicott Johnson for 33 years. Then worked for True Bite for some years to keep busy. She is a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Endicott. Irma has some very special friends who were like sisters to her Maria Gasbarra and Roseanna Mucilli, cousins Lucia Pancicca, and Iolanda Incitti, special neighbors John and Annunziata Masi. Irma loved to go to Tioga Downs with her friend Roseanna, she loved her home and flowers, also gardening with her husband. Her biggest pleasure was cooking for her family and friends. She was never negative she would always say “What are you gonna do.” She and her family would like to thank all the staff on 1 Ross that took care of mom while she was at the hospital. She felt their love. Big thanks for all staff and volunteers at Mercy House for their love and compassion tender care she received during her final days it meant the world to her and her husband. It was like being at home with a lot of helpers. Thank you and God Bless all of them! Special thanks to Father Jim (St. Anthony’s), Father Clarence (Holy Family) for all their spiritual support, Sister Anisa for all the prayers and love she had for our mother (THANK YOU), and all the friends and family that came every day to visit her and prayed with us.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home 511-513 East Main Street Endicott, followed by Funeral Mass at 10 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church 306 Odell Ave Endicott. Entombment will be in Riverhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Tuesday from 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers ALL should make donations in her memory to Mercy House of the Southern Tier.
