Jack Bidwell

Jack Julian Bidwell – 87 years old passed away on Monday, July 11, at Susquehanna Nursing Home. Jack was born in Endicott NY to parents Orin and Myrtle Bidwell on December 24, 1934. Jack married the love of his life, his high school sweetheart Diane Deuel, on September 11, 1954. Jack graduated from Union Endicott High School in 1953 and the RCA Institute, NYC in 1954. Jack began his career working in an RCA TV Repair store on Main Street in Vestal, NY before venturing into partnership with Frank Brhel to establish B&B TV Sales & Service on Avenue B, Endwell, NY. A career and business that would span for over 30 years and something he was so very proud of.
Jack is predeceased by his wife Diane, son, Richard C. Bidwell, sisters Elaine (Raymond) Blarr, and Judy (Dwyane) Lehr.
Jack is survived by his daughters, Robin Miklosovic, Renee (Peter) Arnold, Rebecca (Greg) Bendert, his daughter-in-law, Florence Bidwell, brother-in-law Robert (Kay) Deuel, and twelve grandchildren, Brandi (Todd), Kamber (Scott), Joshua (Gina), Kyle (Lisa), Meghan (Ryan), John, Kolin, Emily, Hannah, Jacob, Hogan, and Madison; ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Jack had a wonderful life traveling to places near and far with the love of his life. He most enjoyed his time spent with his family and grandchildren whether it be camping, cookouts, beach trips to Assateague Island or sporting events. In his retirement years, he enjoyed sitting on his porch reminiscing, with a gin and tonic of course. He was most proud of attaining his flying license and always had a story to share of his adventures in the sky. Jack was truly a jack-of-all-trades, a master carpenter gifting to family and friends special pieces of furniture ensuring his initials were inscribed on each piece, a fixer of everything, and having the patience of a saint. His personality radiated care and humor with everyone he crossed paths with. We take solace knowing he has found peace and is reunited with his sweetheart and son.
The family wishes to extend our heartfelt thank you to all the nurses, aides, and staff members at Susquehanna Nursing Home for taking such good care of our dad not only over the past four years but more importantly during these last few days.
At Jack’s wishes, there will be no services and the family will have a private burial. In memory of Jack, we ask that you consider a donation to MSA- Multiple System Atrophy; American Alzheimer’s Association; or American Autism Association.
