On October 7, 2015 James (Jim) Lyle Collins, 80, died at the Vestal Park Rehab and Nursing Center. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Sarah (Sally McMahon) Collins; his son, Sean Michael Collins and his brothers, Boyd (Buddy) and John P. Collins. Jim leaves behind his daughter, Kelley Collins of Antrim, NH; his son, James P. Collins of Endicott, NY; his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Collins; as well as three grandchildren, Caitlin Collins¸ Jessica Collins and Sean Collins; his sister, Judith (Judy) Cummings; sisters-in-law and brothers-in law, Sheila and Mike Cogswell, Shirley and John Eddy and Thomas McMahon. Jim was an avid skier and fisherman, spending a lot of time at Greek Peak and Sylvan Beach, NY. He was also a Veteran, serving in Okinawa during the Korean War. He retired from IBM after 35 years of service. More than anything he loved his wife and family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lourdes Foundation/Hospice at Lourdes, 4102 Old Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850. The family will receive guests at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Main Street, Vestal , NY on Saturday, October 10th, starting at 10 am with a Funeral Service immediately following.
