It is with our sadness, but also relief, that Jim has been freed from his courageous 6 year battle with ALS. Jim passed away on Wednesday January 27, 2021 at Sitrin Neuro Care in New Hartford NY. ALS took away his mobility and voice, but certainly not his mind.
Jim was predeceased by his father, Carlton Palmer.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Palmer, his son Aaron (Ericka) Palmer and grandchildren Garden and AJ Palmer, all of Ellsworth Maine. He is also survived by his sister Susan (Tom) Mason, nieces Linda Ballard and Michele Head, nephew Mike (Sarah) Mason, as well as great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by the mother of his son, LuAnn Amorese. Jim’s family would also like to Thank his longtime loyal and faithful friends, Vic and Judy Stanley, who were a constant source of friendship and support to Jim throughout his battle with ALS.
Jim, also known as Red or Redman to his friends, had a passion for Muscle Cars and in recent years had the joy of owning a few. Jim served in the Air Force after graduating from Maine Endwell High School. His profession was a carpenter.
The family wishes to Thank the staff at Oxford Vets Home, and in more recent years to the staff at Sitrin Neuro Care in New Hartford NY for the care and compassion they gave Jim.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the ALS Association.
