James Panella

March 24, 1951 — September 5, 2012

On September 5, 2012, our sweet and gentle friend, son and cousin, shed the bonds of his dimly lit and stressful isolation and rose to the sunshine of his Lord and Savior. Par left this world at the age of 61 years, to our deep regret and sorrow. He was predeceased by his dad Mike; beloved wife Dolly Manchester; cousins Vince and David Panella and cherished friend Tolio Mancini. He is survived by his lovely mom, Dolores “Dody” Panella; dearly devoted cousins Gloria A. Novitske and Bob Biango; brother in law Bret; nephew Seth; the Manchester family; his Panella cousins, , including Ronnie; Mike; Mary Ann; Veronica and Christine; his loving friends and caregivers, Al Mandyck and Diane MacDonald; dear friends Mike Lucchetti; Steve Boris; Jim Sloan and Debbie Baskin, all formerly of Endicott; the Iannon family, including Freddy; Elaine; Timmie; Jean Marie and Danny; Peter and Rachel Vallese; Eddie Kolanda and many, many others who knew him. Par graduated from Union-Endicott High School and attended SUNY Canton, ATC and was an employee of the Endicott Public Library, for many years. He loved to cook, sip burgundy wine and loved his super good dog and constant companion Roxy. Par loved the NY Jets, liked the NY Giants and gave up on the NY Mets. He followed the pennant races and the PGA Tour and loved the movies, especially those like” Josie Wales”. Most of all he loved and appreciated the help and support of his friends and family. Go to your well-deserved peace and rest, Par, you will be sorely missed by all. Funeral and Interment Services will be held Tuesday 7 pm from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, with the Reverend Dan Eddings officiating. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Tuesday from 4 pm until service time at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Par’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
