Jane Antinori, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Sunday, May 24th, of Memorial Day weekend, after a relatively short battle with cancer. She suffered through the unexpected death of her oldest daughter, Lisa Singer, just two weeks before her own passing. She was also predeceased by her oldest grandchild - Michael, her loving husband - Louis, and her mother and father - Teresa and Tranquillo Cerra. She was their only child.
Jane was a secretary for Capitol Records in Scranton, PA, and also worked as a secretary to the administrator of the Carbondale General Hospital during her later years, in Carbondale, PA. During the years in between, for most of her life, she was a devoted homemaker and stay at home mom. She was an expert seamstress, an excellent hostess, cook, and baker for every holiday/occasion, and a gifted and prolific artisan crafter of tasteful home decor whose creativity had no bounds. She was also a voracious reader, which made her interesting, smart, and able to carry on a conversation about any topic. Jane loved taking road trips with her husband to the national parks when her children were grown, and traveling to visit landmarks and cities all over the country. Yosemite National Park was her favorite; she also loved New Orleans, Myrtle Beach and the ocean and seashore in general. She loved playing games of all kinds, and making up her own games to play with her grandchildren. She was a perfect grandmother to her grandchildren, eight of which she is survived by ~ Saril (Nick Aldine), Rebecca, Arria, Rachel (Jason Mattia), Zachary, Matthew, Daniel, and Marisa, and three great-grandchildren ~ Dominic, Rocco, and Damien. She is also survived by her son-in-law Jack, her daughter Laura Schroeder (Kurt), and her son Louis Scott Antinori (Carol). Ours was a very close knit family, and Jane will be sorely missed. She was a colorful character who had given us so much of herself and her love. Jane has left her children and grandchildren with a lifetime of memories, which we are grateful for and will cherish for the rest of our lives. She will always be with us and in our hearts forever. Thank you Mom.
