After a brief illness with cancer during the month of July 2012, on Tuesday evening, July 24, Janet passed away into the eternal arms of our Lord and Savior. Born in Warren, PA, Jan grew up in Warren and attended Roberts Wesleyan College. During that time she met her husband, James Kane of Russell, PA, while roller skating. They were married in 1957. At that time they also moved to Endicott, NY. Janet was a devoted and blessed mother of four children. She was preceded in death by her sons, Barry Kane and Bradley Kane, her precious mother and father, Evelyn and Arthur Carlson of Warren, PA, and two sisters, Jean and LaVonne. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Kane and their daughters Kimberly Kane Van Dick, Jill Hadley, and daughter-in-law Cynthia Kane of AR, her sister Lois and husband Dick Hosmer of FL, and brother Stanley Lantz of PA. She also leaves behind her dear grandchildren, Aubrey VanDick, Justin Hadley, Daniel VanDick, Jared Hadley, and Hannah VanDick, all of the area and triplets, Benjamin Kane, Matthew Kane and Elizabeth Kane of ARK., a well as many beloved relatives, nieces, nephews and close friends. Janet enjoyed family gatherings, traveling and skiing. Janet was an Endicott Lioness, an active member of Meals on Wheels for 15 years, a member of The Christian Women’s Club in Owego and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene most of her life. The family of Janet Kane would like to express thanks to those who helped out, especially Hospice. Request for memorial donations by Janet to be made to Meals on Wheels, West Endicott, NY. Funeral Services will be held Friday 12 pm at the Community Church of the Nazarene, 1381 Union Center Maine Highway, Endicott. Reverend Daniel Eddings, Pastor of her church will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City.
