Jean Lovell

Jean F. Lovell, 97, of Vestal, passed away peacefully Monday February 2, 2015 at James G. Johnston Memorial Nursing Home, Johnson City. Jean was predeceased by her husband of 77 years, George, in December 2014; her infant daughter, Sandra Lou; her parents; infant brother, Charles; sister, Anna; brother, Harold and sister-in-law, Linda; and sons-in-law Robert Miner, William Kemmery and Ray Hallock. Jean is survived by daughters, Anna Miner, Linda (AI) Demarest and Janice (Kemmery) Hallock; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters. Jean retired from the Science Library at Harpur College after 22 years of service. She was a loving mother and grandmother who generously gave to all. She especially loved sharing her fresh-baked zucchini bread and homemade fudge with family and friends. She was also an avid reader who read well into her 90s when her vision failed her. The family would like to thank the staff on Unit 1 at JGJ Memorial Nursing Home for their loving care of Jean during the past two years.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. We wish to thank all who attended our Dad’s memorial service on Saturday and offered your kind and loving support.
