Jean L. Marsh of Endwell, NY passed away on August 1, 2013 after an extended battle with Alzheimer’s. She fought hard against the disease and for her independence until the very end. She was 82. She was predeceased by her lifelong friend and husband, Lyle Marsh, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Shea and son-in-law, John Shea from Saratoga Springs, NY and her son, Lyle Marsh, III who lives and works near Washington, D.C. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Sean Sondej and Corinne Marsh of whom she was so very proud. Jean would also wish to acknowledge her dear cousin, Larry, in California with whom she grew up and old with. She was always so happy that he found his wife, Louise. Jean was a devoted wife and mother whose family and close friends meant everything to her. She took great pride in her children, grandchildren, and home. Jean particularly enjoyed her koi pond and her backyard garden. Her cat, Sweetie, provided her comfort and companionship for 12 years. Jean also enjoyed her friends and activities at the Monday Afternoon Club. Finally, she will miss their lifelong friend and best man at their wedding, Dale Schonmeyer of Arizona, who has remained in touch with her after our father’s passing over twenty years ago.
Calling hours will be held at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, NY Sunday, August 4th from 2-4 p.m. Jean and her husband, Lyle, will return to their childhood home in Cleveland, OH to rest with her parents, Betty and Harry Genshaw of Shaker Heights, OH.
