Mom was born and raised in the small marble town of Proctor, Vermont on March 11, 1931. She attended and graduated from Proctor High School a true Phantom. She then attended nursing school and became a registered nurse. Following nursing school on October 24, 1953, she married Robert Richardson and in 1960 they settled in Maine, NY where they spent the rest of their lives.
Mom was proud to be a Registered Nurse and lived that calling everyday of her life until the very end. She was a retired head nurse at UHS – Wilson Memorial Hospital on the surgical floor.
The most important thing to Mom though was her love and dedication to her husband and family. She loved and supported each family member unconditionally. She became known as “GG” to all of us. She was a fan of all the kiddos and attended as many of their events as she could until her passing. It will be a little quieter at the ME Spartans and JC Wildcats sporting and school events as there is one less “Richardson in the House”.
Mom loved her annual vacations to Old Orchard Beach, Maine to sit on the beach, soak her feet in the ocean and eat scallops and lobster as well as sip wine and coffee.
We would like to thank Mom and Dad’s dear friends Pat & Jim Wood for their friendship and every Wednesday lunches and card games with Mom until the time of her passing.
Please make any donations in Jean’s name to the CHOW Program at Maine Federated Church, Maine, NY, or Tunnel to Towers Foundation @ T2T.org.
