Jeremiah (Jerry) Donlin, of Johnson City, passed away Monday October 2, 2017. He was predeceased by his father Francis Donlin and mother Frances (Donovan); his first wife Christel, son Jerry, and daughter Patricia. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 42 years, Elaine; his daughter Amy and son-in-law Jeff Smith; his son Jason and daughter-in-law Chelsea; grandson Jackson; his sister Mary Martha and brother-in-law Bernie Griffin; brother John and sister-in-law Sharon Donlin; and many loving nieces and nephews. Jerry was a graduate of Montrose High School and after graduating, he entered the US military. Jerry was a 20-year veteran of the US Army, serving three tours in Germany and one tour in Vietnam. Upon retiring from the US Army, Jerry continued working in the area for many years. Jerry was well known for his love of old trucks, working in his garage, and was an honorary member of the Guidestep Sportsman’s Club. Jerry was a true Irishman; he was known for his mischievous smile and his ability to find a friend to talk to no matter where he was. The family extends sincere thanks to the caring staff at UHS CVICU.
Funeral Services will be Saturday 9:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church at 10 am. Burial will be in St. Augustine’s Cemetery, Silver Lake, PA. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Friday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations in his memory to the VA Volunteer Services, 53 Chenango Street, Binghamton, NY 13901 or the BC Humane Society, 167 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton, NY 13903. Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand. The family will receive friends at Our Lady of Sorrows Church following the burial service.
