Joan Teresa (Bover) Anderson of Vestal, N.Y. (formerly of Watervliet, N.Y.), passed from this life to join her mother, father, and sisters early in the morning of April 20, 2018. Born in Troy, N.Y, to Joseph and Mary Bover, she was an honors graduate of Catholic Central High School, and worked over the years at International Harvester and The Vestal Press. She also freely volunteered her time for multiple charitable causes. She was predeceased by her father Joseph, her mother Mary, and sisters Mae Sheridan and Ida Belanger. She is survived by her loving family, including husband J. Edward Anderson, sons Brad (Patricia) Anderson, Daniel (Karen) Anderson, Thomas (Michele) Anderson, and daughter Betsy (Larry) Anderson. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren Kristen (John) Belfield, Erik (Julie) Anderson, Peter (Tracy) Anderson, Joanna (Daniel) Oliver, Alex Dunham, Jake Anderson, Kyle Anderson, Matthew Anderson, and Michael Anderson. She is further survived by 12 great-grandchildren Anderson, Brennan, Connor, Dylan, Benjamin, Nora, Theo, Charlie, Indiana, Faith, Abigail, and Hannah. She enjoyed her sixty-four years of marriage, her Belmont Avenue bridge club, her golf league, Myrtle/Cocoa Beach “snowbird” vacations, and multiple worldwide adventures, including snorkeling in the Molokini Crater with her loving husband, but what Mom loved most of all was taking care of her family. She will be truly missed. We want to thank all of her loving caregivers, Louise, Rhonda, Sabrina, and Barb, as well as Drs. Liu and Ram and Lourdes Hospice for their wonderful care. We also want to thank the wonderful staff of Mercy House of the Southern Tier where she spent her final days.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday 9:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home 511-513 East Main Street Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church 801 Main Street Vestal. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Monday from 4-7.
