Joan L. Harris

May 10, 1934 — August 30, 2012

A joyous family reunion was held in heaven August 30, 2012 when Joan Louise Harris entered the Kingdom of Heaven. She was predeceased by her parents, Iona and Henry; brothers, Charles and wife Katherine, Chester and Lawrence; sisters, Ellen Miller, Alys and Jerry Crampton, Wilma and Richard Baker, Florence Doolittle and Ida Paglia. Also predeceasing her were nieces and nephews, Phyllis, Charles Harris, Danny Baker and special niece, Becky Loveless. Surviving Joan are sisters, Myrna and Stan Sprague, Myra and Gene Thomas; brothers, Hank and Rose Mary, Jerry and Sue; brother-in-law, Frank Miller; sisters-in-law, Helen Jane Harris and Sandy Saccoccio; several nieces and nephews and Kim Loveless, a special niece Joan adopted after Becky’s passing. Also surviving, a special friend Ellie Rose. Joan was an I.B.M. retiree after many years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. In later years Joan organized the reunions from Hooper School. She was an avid bowler. Joan passed away peacefully at Binghamton General Hospital. Our grateful thank you to the Emergency Room Department and Memorial Three Staff for their kind and compassionate care to Joan and her family. Joan was a member of the Endwell United Methodist Church and an avid Union-Endicott Football Fan and New York Yankees fan.Funeral Services will be held Sunday 4 pm from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, with the Reverend Dann Travis, Pastor of Crosswords of Life Church, Binghamton officiating. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Sunday from 3 pm until service time at 4 pm.
