John Bowers

John M. Bowers, Town of Owego, passed on August 11, 2022. John was born to Harry and Mary Sulich Bowers (Bewersdorf) on December 26, 1941, in Binghamton, NY. John was predeceased by: his parents; the love of his life, wife of 55 years, Ida; brother Thomas Bowers; sister Patricia Mulesky; close brother-in-law Don Frear; and faithful dogs Buddy and Sammy. John is survived by his loving family: daughter and son-in-law Susan and Bill Knight; son John David Bowers; grandchildren Billy, Kristina, and Jason Knight, Austin and Dana Donovan-Bowers. He is also survived by brothers- and sisters-in law, many cousins, nephews, and nieces. John was an Eagle Scout, a member of St. Joseph’s Church, and retired from NYSEG. John was generous, always helped others, and loved telling stories. He enjoyed spending time with his much adored grandchildren and his grand “doggies” Luna and Jackson. We love you, Dad; be at peace reunited with Mom.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
