John “Jack” Gasparovic

John T. “Jack” Gasparovic, 86, of Vestal, NY passed away peacefully on February 14, 2021. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Catherine (Marcinkevich) Gasparovic, his wife, Shirley J. Gasparovic, a brother, Thomas, a son, Joseph T., and his former wife, Marlea M. (Homa) Gasparovic. He is survived by his daughter, JoAnn Quattro of Morristown, NJ; a son, John D. Gasparovic, of Leesburg, VA; three grandchildren, Melissa Gasparovic of New York City, NY; Natasha Quattro of Cane Ridge, TN, and Dylan Quattro of Morristown, NJ; his sister, Anita Kuzas of Camarillo, CA, and two brothers, Theodore, of Gainesville, FL, and William, of Cathedral City, CA ; three step-children, Linda McDonald of Elmira, NY; Michael Williams of Cocoa Beach, FL: and Carol Lusher of Elmira, NY; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many good friends and neighbors.

Jack graduated from Union-Endicott High School and Harpur College. Following in his father’s footsteps, he worked in the grocery business, as a store manager for Harris Food Lines and Giant Food Markets. In retirement, he enjoyed gardening and socializing. He was an enthusiastic fan of jazz music and sports. Jack was an extraordinary friend, always ready to listen, share some sweets or give someone a ride, and he will be missed.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary of Apalachin at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 19, 2021. To honor Jack’s memory, donations may be made to the Broome West Senior Center, 2801 Wayne St., Endwell, NY 13760.
