John Gyles

John J. Gyles, Jr., 91 passed away Sunday, September, 13, 2015 at the NYS Veterans Home, Oxford, NY. He was predeceased by his parents John J., Sr. and Jennie (Foyt) Gyles, two brothers Stephen and James Gyles and a sister, Jean. He is survived by eight nieces and nephews Patricia Gyles; Michael (Henrietta) Gyles; Stephen (Suzanne) Gyles; Mary (Mark) Faraldo; James (Michele) Gyles; Joanne (Patrick) Golden; Christine (Seth) Kaeuper and Kathleen (William) Tillotson; many great nieces and great nephews and two special great nieces Danielle (Jesse) Zito and Jenny (Jon) Gyles. John served 30 years in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of W.W. II, Korea and the Viet Nam Wars. After retirement from military service he worked in maintenance with several companies in Endicott, Vestal and Glendale, including IBM.
Funeral Services will be held Friday at 11:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church at 12 pm. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City with full military honors. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 am.
