John Muntean

John G. Muntean, 70, passed away on August 13, 2017 after a short illness. John was preceded in death by his parents, George Muntean Jr., Helen V. Muntean (Stoicoiu) and his brother, Dr. James B. Muntean. He is survived by Rosalind Hammer, his longtime loving companion, his two sisters, Linda Muntean and Dolly Holtz (Mike). Nieces and Nephews: Nicholas Muntean (Rebecca), Marisa Muntean, Dustin Holtz (Peggy), Brandi Aftabizadeh (Shahin) and Kevin Holtz (Nancy), six great nieces and nephews as well as Sonja and Nala his faithful companions. John was a decorated Navy combat veteran who served 6 years during the Vietnam era. He served on a town council for the city of Marathon, NY and was a Charter Member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott at 11 am Saturday, September 2, 2017. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, Saturday, September 2nd from 10 am until service time at 11 am. A Parastas will also be held in his memory at St. Mary’s Romanian Orthodox Cathedral, 3256 Warren Road, Cleveland, OH, on Saturday, October 28, 2017 beginning at 10 am.
