John Bikos Sr.

d. April 29, 2021

It is with great sadness that we his daughters, announce the passing of our friend, mentor and father John A Bikos Sr. on April 29, 2021 at the age of 87. Our father a simple, generous man exemplified unconditional love without complaints. His mantra, “We’ll do the best we can”, made it a joy and privilege for his daughters and their families to care for him in his last seven years. Our father was born in Endicott, NY on August 23, 1933 and graduated from UEHS. Shortly after graduating, Dad began his career as a letter carrier for the USPS, proudly delivering mail for 32 years throughout Endwell and Endicott before retiring. In addition to his full-time job, Dad worked various part-time jobs to provide for us and to give us a much loved, yearly beach vacation to Assateague Island, MD. Our dad loved the St. Louis Cardinals (since childhood), camping, food and above all his family. Our dad endured the pain of losing his only son, his namesake, John A. Bikos, Jr. Also passing before him, his parents George and Margaret and brothers, George and Ernie. He is survived by his daughters, Diane (Robert) Dorin, Lori (Douglas) Keith, Patti Bikos (Wayne) and Sherri (Larry) Bailey. Dad also leaves behind his extended family, twelve adoring grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three grand pups, his wife Kathleen and a treasured friend, Beverly. Special, “Thank You” to MaryAster who provided Dad with much care and love in his final year. To honor our dad’s memory, take a moment today to spread kindness.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11am-1pm at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
