Allen, Jon R. Age 57 of Endicott died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, July 5 due to complications w surgery. Jon was born in Endicott to Robert and Dorothy Allen and graduated from U E High School. Jon is survived by his husband Robby of 8 years, his sister Kim (Jim) Ford of Cape May, NJ and his brothers, Gary (Carol) Allen of Vestal and Bob (Pam) Allen of Endicott, many nieces and nephews, family and friends. Jon was a generous, caring, kind man that never hesitated helping anyone and was always there for you. He had a very strong work ethic and didn’t leave a job unfinished. Jon as a teenager, was part owner of the Handyman Assoc. with his brother Bob that today is known as Northern Scapes. He was employed with Fed Ex as a package carrier for over 17 years. Jon owned a farm raising many varieties of animals and he favored his dogs and horses. His first yellow horse, Big Bird and his Percherons that he participated in many a parade with his many beautiful carriages he collected. He raised Rottweilers and loved his Hannah and Greta his Doberman never left his side. He loved his farm and was very active in horse-shows w Robby. He had a passion for antiques and his collectibles was his hobby.
To celebrate Jon’s life, friends will be received by family at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, on Tuesday, July 12 at 10:00 am following by a ceremony to begin at 11:00 am in the form of family and friends sharing thoughts, memories and sentiments. In memory of Jon’s kindness, reach out to someone and make them smile.
