Joseph F. Brown passed away quietly in his home Thursday, July 5, 2012.He was predeceased by his parents, Helen and Oscar Brown; sister, Nancy Bieleski and a grandson, Mark Ozminkowski.He is survived by his wife Mary E. Brown; daughters; Barbara (Gary); Carolyn (Doug); Anne (Terry) and Diane (Pat); grandchildren Gary (Lisa); Anthony; Daniel; Jill; Amy (Sean) and Michelle.Joe served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a Purple Heart recipient.”Doc” Brown was attached with the First Marine Force and was a proud member of the Marine Corps League.He was a member of St. Ambrose Church, Endicott and the Legion of Mary.Through the Faith Formation Ministry, Joe recited the rosary with “his girls” at the Broome County Correctional Facility.His faith was strong and he loved to share it with the rosaries he made for others.Joe was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club, and retired after thirty two years.He was a true New York Yankees and Giants fan. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday 10 am from St. Ambrose Church, 203 Washington Avenue, Endicott.Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City.The family will receive friends at church Monday from 9 am until Mass time at 10 am.Expressions of sympathy in Joe’s memory may be made to the Mark Ozminkowski Fund, c/o Upstate University Hospital Foundation, 750 East Adams Street, 326 CAB, Syracuse, NY13210.
