Josephine (Battaglini) Picciano,102 of Endicottt, NY, died peacefully at her home on Sunday May 30, 2021.
She is pre-deceased by husband Anthony Picciano, daughter Valerie Mulderig, son-in-law Thomas Diorio, seven sisters, two brothers and many beloved friends and family.
Josie is survived by her three children; Colleen Becker (Sam), Becky Diorio, Nick Picciano and son-in-law Chuck Mulderig.
Seven Grandchildren; Ivy (Matt) Levinson, Erin (Patrick) Whited, Maia (Bryant) Henson, Jennifer (Scott) McMyne, Sara (Jeff) Helms, and two grandsons, Daric Diorio, Jerome (Cynthia) Ruiz and eleven great grandchildren. Also, survived by her dear sister Michelina Stancati.
Josie had many wonderful nieces and nephews and loved them all very much.
Josie was an inspiration of strength, spirit and mind. She was a fascinating conversationalist and had many diverse interests. She lived a long, beautiful life surrounded by family and friends who loved her dearly. She was proud of her family heritage and hometown history of Endicott, NY;
especially her family bakery started by her parents (Giuseppe and Filomena Battaglini) in 1911. Her generous, loving heart will be greatly missed.
The family thanks the kind, Lourdes Hospice Angels who brought such comfort and care to Josie and her family in her final days.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday 10 at St. Ambrose Church, 203 Washington Avenue, Endicott. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends at church Friday from 9 am until Mass time at 10 am.
