Our loving Mother, Joyce Grace (McMahon) Cassidy, age 83, of Cape Haze, FL and formerly of Endicott was reunited with her loving husband on Monday, August 5, 2013. She is resting peacefully with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer. She is predeceased by the love of her life, Richard (Dick) John Cassidy, her husband of 41 years and her parents, Olevia (Dohney) Higgs, (step-father, LaRue Higgs) and Bernard L. McMahon, and her sister, Wilda Palmer. She is survived by her loving children: daughters, Susan O. Cassidy, M.D. (Jerry Roscoe), Carole M. Cassidy Kane (Frank), Joyce A. Cassidy and son Richard J. Cassidy M.D. (Debbie); 11 grandchildren, Jennifer Lee, James Clark, Andrew Clark, David R. Kapur, Mary Olevia Byrnes, Richard Cassidy, M.D., John Cox, Caitlin Cassidy, Adam Cox, Elizabeth Cox, and Kelly Cassidy; and six great-grandchildren and sister, Bernadine Shettle as well as many cherished friends. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel and St. Francis churches. As a young woman, she was the Society Editor for the Binghamton Sun Newspaper writing the popular column, Jay-Ceeing with Joyce. After her marriage, she devoted her life to her four children and husband. After the death of her husband, she assumed leadership of Interstate Auto Parts. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and going to the casino with her life-long friends. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, August 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott on Sunday, August 11, 2013 from 2-5 p.m.
