Joyce Curtis

Joyce V. Curtis, age 88, passed away from a fall on Monday, July 11, 2016 at Wilson Hospital. Joyce was predeceased by the “Love of her Life,” husband Jack Curtis, parents Ruth and Marvin Faling, sister Phyllis Burke and son-in-law David Sammon. Joyce is survived by daughters: Jacqueline J. Sammon and Bonnie S. Cornick. Grandchildren: Holly Somers Hidock and John Curtis Cornick. Brothers: Roger (Helen) Faling and children Lynell and Craig; Bruce Faling; nephews: Jim Burke (Deb) and Richard Burke (Judy) and their families. Joyce retired after 28 years at Union-Endicott High School working in the Library and she loved every minute of it. Mom was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a member of the Broome County Republican Women’s Club. Mom loved watching sports especially the Yankees, shopping and sitting on her front porch. Most of all she was a wonderful wife, mom, gram, sister, and friend to everyone and anyone that knew her. Mom was a lady through and through—you couldn’t ask for a better person to support and love you! God bless you mom……we’ll miss you forever and always.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday 10:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Friday from 4-7 pm. Donations can be made in Joyce’s memory to the Boys and Girls Club of Western Broome at One Club House Road, Endicott, NY 13760.
