Keith French

d. December 31, 2015

Keith B. French Sr. 74 of Maine, NY passed away peacefully December 31, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. Keith was predeceased by his parents, Leon and Catherine French; his brothers, Robert and Willis French; his in-laws, Raymond and Rita Wanck; and his brother-in-law, Michael Corcoran. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Nancy French; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith Jr. and Elise French (Maine NY), James and Cathy French (Owego NY). He was known as Bepa to his three grandchildren, Aria, Logan and Emma French who were the light of his life. Keith is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Larry (Fran) French (Endicott NY), Betty (David) Wells (Owego, NY), Judy (Harry) Dodge (Owego, NY), Gloria Corcoran (Johnson City, NY), Michael (Kathy) French (Endicott, NY), Linda (Leon) Osbourne (Candor, NY); sister-in-law, Dorothy French; and numerous nieces and nephews. Keith was a member of the Union Center United Methodist Church. He spent over 30 years in the Electronic Component industry where he was a General Manager of the Binghamton and Rochester NY offices for Marshall Industries where his co-workers were like his second family. Keith was their dad and always the calming voice of reason. He will always be remembered for his kind heart and his amazing homemade Christmas dinners. His last job before retirement was with the Vestal Central School District delivering mail and good will throughout the district. Keith was an avid bowler starting out as a manual pin setter for the IBM Country Club. He bowled for over 50 years in multiple leagues where he was able to achieve two 300 games. He also loved to play slow pitch softball for the Headquarters Team in Johnson City and also for the Endicott Moose. But his proudest softball moments came from playing fast pitch softball with his two sons and close friends for Union Center United Methodist Church where they won multiple championships and always celebrated after the games at Pipher’s Subs in Union Center. Keith also enjoyed golfing playing in various golf leagues, 10 BC Open Pro Am’s and the Golf for your Heart Tournaments. Keith was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed by all. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 441 W. Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse, NY 13204 and to Lourdes Hospice 4102 Old Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850.

The family will receive friends and family from 9:30-11am Wednesday January 6, 2016 at the Union Center United Methodist Church. A service to celebrate Keith will follow at 11:00 at the church.
