Khaled (Kal) Barmada, 83, born in Aleppo Syria, residing in Endwell, NY entered into eternal life after a long battle with cancer on April 16, 2024. Khaled was predeceased by his parents, Jawdat and Kamleh Barmada, brothers; Malek, Yusif, Talaat, sisters; Khaldiah and Mehdiah, father in-law and mother in-law; Salvatore and Nicolina Ciotoli. He is survived by his loving wife Anna Barmada, his daughter Monique (Bruce), his son Mark (Renee), grandchildren Mikayla and Maxwell Bergman, his sister Fadiya and brother Nabeel. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Kal valued education. He graduated from Salem University in West Virginia. He was a dedicated professional who had a successful career as an advertising executive at both radio and television stations. Kal was an active member in our community and participated in many charities, social clubs and golf leagues. He had a robust social life, a passion for gardening and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Kal and Anna fell in love at first sight. They shared 53 incredible years of marriage and traveled the world together enjoying the best that life had to offer. Kal was blessed with a daughter and son. He took great joy in their accomplishments. He was a proud generous father who did anything for his children. The title he cherished most though, was Geddo. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He shared a special bond with his granddaughter, Mikayla who was his best friend. She always made sure he was happy. Kal shared a passion for basketball with his grandson. They loved watching Syracuse and he was so excited about Max’s recent acceptance to Michigan State University.
Monique shared very similar character traits with her dad. They could always enjoy a friendly banter. Monique and Bruce were dedicated to always helping Kal. He enjoyed working on projects with Bruce around the house. Kal and Mark loved when spring arrived because it meant they could get out on the green and play a round of golf together. Kal passed on the green thumb to his son. He looked forward to gardening season with Mark and Renee. He couldn’t wait to give tours of his garden to them. He will be greatly missed by his friends, family and community.
