Lavonne Sobiech

LaVonne Ann Sobiech of Endicott, New York, age 78, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning October 3, in the comfort of her daughter and son-in law’s home. LaVonne fought valiantly in her illness with cancer for 18 months and was supported throughout this by family and friends. She demonstrated tremendous courage and faith during this very challenging time. She was predeceased by her husband Emil Gerald Sobiech, her sister Jane Jones and her mother and father, Margaret and Thomas Jones. She is survived by her four children, Charles Sobiech, James (Sharon) Sobiech, Suzanne (Matt) Demtrak and Robin (Daniel) Saltino. She is survived by many grandchildren, to include Derek Sobiech, Samantha (Patrick) Temperato, Ryan Sobiech, Enzo Emil and Quinn Thomas Saltino. Also survived by six great grandchildren. Lavonne enjoyed many years working as a special education teacher’s aide at Johnson City High School. She loved to gab and enjoy a cup of coffee and something sweet with family and friends. She spent many happy times visiting with close friends and enjoyed being part of the Happy Wanderers church group. LaVonne was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to this church or the Humane Society of Binghamton. God bless her and us all. Lavonne is at peace now, helping to guide our lives through the grace and love of her eternal spirit.
A Memorial Service for LaVonne will be held on Friday, October 20 at 11 am at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 731 Hooper Road, Endwell. The family will receive friends at church from 10 am until Service time at 11 am. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Johnson City.
