Lee E. Reese, 95, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Ideal Nursing Center with his granddaughter Melanie at his side. Melanie supplied special assistance and support to her grandfather during the last 14 years of his life. Lee spent most of his life living in Vestal. He also lived in Endicott, and Auburndale, FL. He was predeceased by his parents Howard and Anna (Strosser) Reese; brothers Harold, Carl and Eldon; as well as his wife of 62 years Mary Reese. He is survived by his sons Todd (Deanna) of Little River, SC; and Stephen (Almeda) of New Stanton, PA; sister Shirley (Ken) Snavely and sister in law Shirley Reese. He is also survived by his grandchildren Melanie (David) Brosious, Sally (Gary) Hardin, Laura (fiancée Steven) Van Vorce, Monica Fotinos, Stephen (Kimberly) Reese, and Linda (David) Hodges, also several great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Lee graduated from Union Endicott High School and served in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II. He retired from I.B.M. in 1976 after 37 years of service. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Ideal Nursing Center, Tulip Court for providing round the clock care to Lee over the past 2 ½ years.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 2 pm from the Allen Memorial Home 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Wednesday from 1 pm until service time at 2 pm.
