Lena Roma of Endicott, 1932 - 2018, It is with great sadness that the family of Lena Roma announces her passing after a brief illness, on June 14, 2018, at the age of 85. She was predeceased by her loving husband Federico (2003); her parents Domenico and Grazia Fiacco; in laws Antonio and Assunta Roma; her beloved sister Gina Dutcher (Fiacco); and her brothers-in-law Vince Dutcher, Giacomo Roma, and Paolo Misserville. Lena was survived by her son Anthony Roma (Andrea) and daughter Sandra Paniccia (Vincenzo); grandchildren Adrienne (Dominick) Blasioli; Caroline Roma; Jacqueline Paniccia; and Vincent Paniccia; two great-grandsons Colton and Connor Blasioli; her sister-in-law Lidia Misserville (Roma) of Italy; nephews Dino Dutcher (Renee) and Domenico Misserville; niece Denise Dutcher; godchildren and many special friends. She loved tending to her vegetable garden, cooking and baking for her family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling to New York Italian festivals and casinos, but especially delighted in spending time with her family and attending their concerts, plays, birthday parties, and graduations. A devout Catholic, Lena was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Endicott, where she enjoyed attending the Italian Mass and volunteering for parish events.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday 10 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 306 Odell Avenue, Endicott. Entombment will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends at church, Monday evening from 5-7 pm. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to St. Francis Ministry, Kenya Boarding School Project, St. Anthony’s Church c/o Sr. Anisia Muthoni, 304 Oak Hill Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
