Predeceased by: father Merton Welch Sr., mother Myrtle, brothers, Max, Phil, Larry, Ed (Merton Jr.), sisters Lois (Gonzalez), Irma (LaBarre), Marylin (Galus).Survived by: wife of 68 years, Betty, Son Leon (Lee)(Patty) of Ocala, Fl. Daughter Elaine Burt of Jamesville, NY, Son Doug (Kathy) of Big Flats, NY. Cheryl Martin of Ga. Grandchildren, Stephen, Emily & Joella Burt, Gavin and Trevor Welch. Brother David, Brother-in-law Leo Paul (Speedy) Gonzalez. Several nephews, nieces and extended family members. Purple Heart recipient having served in the European theater duringW.W.II. Funeral Services will be held Saturday January 14, 2017 at Maine Federated Church, 2615 Maine St. Maine, NY. The family will receive friends at Maine Federated Church, Maine, NY. between 10-12 with a military honors memorial service to immediately follow. Interment will be at Maine Cemetery at a future date at the convenience of the family.
